Question Deicing Washer Fluid

I've heard that the deicing component of washer fluid can harm the paint, wipers, window gasket, etc. Is this true? Deicing washer fluid sure would be cheaper and easier than scraping and warming up my Ram.

I've always used the - whatever windshield washer fluid in all my vehicles...never had a problem. Its not good on the windshield wipers to run them across ice though.

I have used Rain-X washer/de-icer fluid for years. It does not harm anything, I have nothing negative to say about it. I won't use anything else.

The RainX winter fluid doesn't harm any surfaces. I've used it and 20/20 concentrate for years with no problems.

I have used the RainX winter fluid for years and have had no problems! Plus after using for awhile it will give your windshield the RainX water shedding effect.
