Default Question for guys with 4.56s

At WOT what speed are you guys at when your shift into 4th?

Reason why I asked is because I have 3.92s and put some 17" Drs on the rear and that ended up changing my effective gear ratio to a 4.62 per this calculator.

On my on going thread I have a screen shot comparison of a log with my 22" wheels on (31" OD) and the 17" wheels mounted in the rear (28" OD). With the 22" wheels I was shifting into 4th around 86mph and now I'm around 77mph with the 17" DR I just wanted to get some input for you guys if that seems normal. And yes I did make the change to correct the speedometer per gps but here's the thread with the screen shots.

that does sound about right i do not have 4.56's in my truck but if you have a taller tire on the truck the tires spin less revs per mile so your engine/transmission/gears dont have to spin as fast to make them move hense you can go faster in each gear with taller tires than small tires

not sure if this is the answer you are looking for but it is what i know on this subject, you might reach out to fastNugly he runs 4.56's and would have the answer for ya, but then he runs 37's (i think he still has 37's anyways) so his mph when he shifts might be different.

My truck is calibrated for the gears and 37's

I'd love to hear the response you get, cause Im HEAVILY leaning towards going with some 35's
I wanna see those lifted truck move

35's seem to take me in line with an RT on 32's
Which is where I wanna be

Kinda stupid.....but I want a lifted truck, but still want it to bogey and surprise a lot of people

Lol, could it be because it's a lot easier for a diesel to turn 37's then it is a gasser? None the less, everyone I know with 35 to 37" tires are running 4.56 gears on their Rams. I wouldn't run anything less with those size tires, otherwise it would loose too much power. That said, you will definitely loose some time off your et with those big tires...unless you have a diesel of course. It's gonna feel like you're pulling a trailer, especially with the wrong gear...just saying.

LOL I know its easier but, in the end I couldn't justify owning a 2500 diesel. I would love one yes, but I don't tow anything large diesel fuel is retarded expensive, and its just me and the wife so space isn't an issue. You are definitely right I don't want to put a lift and tires on without doing the gears. I know I'll lose a bit of time with a lift and tires but I still want to surprise people and get that wtf?!?!?! look when my lifter gasser leaves them in the dust.

You can always do both together, but that will be costly or do one first and the other following shortly after.
I did lift first (and wheels) and a month later did my gears.

It made a HUGE difference. But I also had 3.55s which was pathetic to my liking
