Nope. Manufacturers do it some of the time. Google "99 Cobra Horsepower" for another view. I owned one. Dynoed it. Had more HP than the others at the time. FORD came and looked at mine.

Since you seem to keep bringing this up, why don't you show us some dynos from a Tundra? Titan? Any other vehicle?

A true test of power would be a trip to the track. Those numbers don't lie.

Actually....without killing the torque management they do lie.
I hit the track the night before we dynoed....TM killed the truck outta the hole and felt like it dropped to 1/2 throttle at the 1-2 shift.
Only ran a 14.6 on a 2.1 60'
The calculator on my website says it should be capable of 14.0's at the power it made and weight of 5250 with my and 1/4 tank of fuel in it.

I take it you guys are dynoing in 4th gear, 1:1. Those numbers would be close to 30% drivetrain loss, ouch !!

It would be cool to data log and see if the truck is pulling timing in the upper RPM.

This is true, I believe Ford even did a recall on the 99's and replaced the intake and exhaust to help get it closer to the advertised horsepower.

I think he ran it in the top gear, blipped it down to 5 and let it shift on its own when he got on it.

Am I missing something here? Unbroken is working with a custom tuner with his '12 R/T. I did catch that the other R/T that will get a tune is '11. But what I'm (fingers crossed and eyes closed) hearing is that Unbroken is working with a custom tuner with his '12 R/T. Can I infer that there will be a tune for the '12 in the near future?

To get a number that would be even relatively close to the others whom have dynoed their trucks it would have to be in a 1:1 gear where there is no over or under driving of the main shaft.

The only time we do not use a 1:1 gear is when the vehicle has a speed limiter that woudl be engaged if we didn't.

This is SOP for a dyno operator.

He was a pretty young dyno operator, i said in one of my earlier post he probably just doesnt have much experience with dynoing trucks. Either way we got some base runs in. I might stop by another dyno shop not too far away from me this weekend and run it with the 93 perf tune and then load the stock tune again and see what numbers they get.
