Default ignition coil help! please!

okay my trucks been taking longer to fire the last couple of days well today the engine light came on
the code i got was p2314 ignition coil "e" secondary circuit
i was told needed a new ignition coil a little checking online found out the was #5 so bought a new one replaced it started my truck fired right away but the engine light was still on so i turned it off and disconnect the neg battery cable to reset everything but the cable back on now my truck wont fire?????
any suggestions i thought i did everything right but did i mess up in my methods here?? here is a pic of the new one and old one

It is cranking just not firing
it seems like it almost wants to fire just doesnt have enough to start idk how else to say that sorry

Wow, the old one looks like it's fried!
After replacing you say you started it right up. Did it run good? How many miles are on the truck? Have you checked compression on all cylinders just to get an idea as to the general health of it?

its at 105 no compression checks but in another forum i posted the same thing and someone told me that i needed to feather the throttle when i try and start it because my truck need to re-learn to idle
did that fired right up let off and it acted like it wanted to die so i revved it up held it about 2000 rpms now it idles fine and starts right up
appreciate all the help guys thanks!
