Default 2012 backup camera install help, looking for Reverse Lamp wire

I have installed a DD head unit with a backup camera in my 2012 Express. The camera works great but I have to set the monitor on the head unit to "Camera" to see the camera's input. To have it automatically switch when I put the truck in reverse, I need to send a trigger to the Head Unit. The instructions say to connect into the Reverse Lamp Lead. Does anyone know where I can find that wire in the cabin or under the hood so I don't have to run a new wire all the way back to the rear bumper? Thanks.

Take your tail gate down, on drivers side in the tail light there are 2 hex bolts undue them and take your tail light off then the bottom light in there is your reverse light. Tap into the positive side and good to go. I did this sunday for my light bar and no problems. You just need to be careful when you re-tape it make sure its tight and you get a full seal

Thanks! I'll have to get some wire and get this done. Was hoping to find something up in the cab but it looks like I'll just have to run the wire back there after all.

If you have a seven pin connector for the trailer hitch the center lead is the reverse. i "believe" the color is violent.
