Default UNDERCOVER LUX SE or SE SMOOTH

So my plans changed from a bakflip vp to an undercover.
like i said itl either be the lux or the smooth. yes i know they are the same thing just ones primered and the others already painted, and thats the problem.i want it ready to go soon as i get it.but also very expensive.now the se smooth comes primered ready to paint.havnt found 2 many great prices on it either but from what i can guess the only diffirence in price is because one is painted and the other isnt.average price i find for the lux is 1250 shipped. average price for the smooth is 820ish shipped.thats about a 400 price diffirence.i can consider the smooth but then risk paying alot getting it painted or just never actually get around to doing it.or just the lux and be done with it.

any and all help is always welcomed and highly appreciated.thanks everyone.

I have the lux on my truck and love it. I paid 1000 plus tax installed at a local shop. I was worried about paint quality etc. but the match is perfect and 3 year warranty on paint.

I got the se smooth painted for 1200 installed. I really like the cover. It looks great and keeps everything secure and dry.

At that price point you should look at the Snuglid too....it also comes painted with then underside carpeted. Here's the thread I dd when I got mine on.
IMHO it's much cleaner loking than the Undercover....no lines on it and the lip to clear the tailgate trim is minimal.

^^^ from pictures appears to fit the same as the undercover. undercover is plastic vs fiberglass which is nics to. Also single lock vs dual which I also like. Both are nice covers IMO, comes down to preference. I would also consider if you have any problems. I purchased undercover because my dealer for them will personally take care of problems. Closest dealer for snuglid to me is like 450 miles away, just another thing to consider.

alot of good points to consider for sure.from what ive seen im pretty sure i want an undercover. single lock deffinetly a plus.and i actually like the lines on top of the undercovers not just flat and plain. i live in a small town now and my problem is not much competition for the shops here so they try and charge whatever they want so im thinking online gna be my best bet.
