Default simple electrical question 87 d100 3.7 v6 parking lamp socket

okay 3 wires on truck are a light green and a black with white and black .. then the replacement is 3 wires 2 black and one white??? i think you can figure what my question is based on the equation the colors do not match up and well i put it in and not sure if this was the problem to begin with or if i caused the short.. but i need to know which wires go to which wires as now the light are grounded out and only have them when turn signal is on.. or is this problem from the steering harness i put it and ran jumpers from round to square plug? i just ran jumpers directly in sequence so i figure it should be the same as the wires gauge was all the same.. different colors from an 85 to an 87 but seemed to work fine until i put the replacement lamp socket in.. seemed alright until i test road it to get inspected haha.. and now well before i take it in need to resolve yet another mess.. LOL aNY HELP.. thanks

If I were youI would take your truck to some who does auto electronics. Your description of what you have done scares me.
