Right now, I would sit tight and see what happens. Since there doesn't seem to be any occurrences of this happening in the Ram's it may never amount to anything.

Vancat74, I have to disagree with you about the 6.1L engines because of the timing chain tensioner design difference and the fact that people with LX vehicles are using the 6.1L tensioners to correct the problem. You can check out the difference in tensioner design here - http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....ght=tensioners

Well at our dealership we havent seen any broken. But I personally have done 4 timing chain and tensioner replacements on 2010 DS 5.7s.
Reason being for is that the customer complaint was of a noise likened to a baseball card hitting the spokes on a bike wheel. It happens 40kph-20kph coast down.
Found the tensioner spring is severly weakened, causing divets in the guide arm which when the load is off the chain causes the noise. Its possible that people might of heard this noise for a while before the failure.

Hope it's just a rumor. Mine's a 2006 Hemi without the MDS.

We have one of these in here today. Complete failure of the tensioner and the engine has jumped time but the extent of the damage has yet to be determined.
