Default '12 Ram 1500 questions...leveling kit??

So I just bought a new 2012 Ram 1500 Bighorn, got a few questions?

1) what manufacture of leveling kit does anybody have and/or recommand...heard that I should stay away from 2.5" leveling kits cause of binding in front cvd's

2) has anybody done or know of somebody thta has vinyl wrapped there 20" OEM rims( bighorn rims) and does it hold up throughout the winter months....if so what brand of vinyl

if anybody could post pics of any of these toipics please do so...

thanks

bilsteins are popular for a leveling kit, they are an adjustable shock (so you can adjust the front end height) they cost a bit more but thats what most people will recommend. as for the wheels and vinyl, i would plasti dip them any color you want. looks good, its durable easy to remove if you dont like it also.

I just installed the Daystar 2 1/2 inch leveling kit on my 2012 Lonestar model. Love it. They raise the front end 2 inches and looks just right with a small amount of rake left in it. Just use a reputable shop for your alignment.

I've installed 3 Hell Bent Steel kits on 2012 Rams.. price is good and the product is great... I plastic dipped my wheels and all I can say is make sure you do it where there is a lot of heat... I did mine 2 weeks ago and the garage must not have been warm enough cause it is starting to peal off the rims, that or I didn't apply enough to the inner triangles of the wheel... I will be doing them again probably this weekend!

Just a question about putting a leveling kit on to get rid of the rake, does it raise the total height of the vehicle? I am thinking probably not.

I just wondered if lifting the front raised the back of roof any and it doesn't.

If you raise the front end with a levelling kit, it WILL raise the overall height. Wouldn't be a lot, maybe 1" at the centre point of the roof. I didn't measure mine to see. Bt if you lift the front, the cab will sit slightly higher.
