Please provide some links for decent 22" wheel/tire combinations X 4 for that price bracket you speak of above.

When I was looking for 22" wheel/tire combinations for first my 05' Screw and then my 11' Tahoe, I couldn't find ANYTHING worthwhile under about 4K [uninstalled].

I think around 1500 is a decent price for a set of wheels then add another 1000 for tires. I am very picky about wheels and have looked for months before I settled on mine. I'm picking them up in the morning and got an insane deal on them which I'm am not going to say until I have them in my hands lol. Here is a pic of them. They are Boss 335's in 22 and are around $300 a piece.

The 420S is a great tire...I've run them before. The Kumho Ecsta STX is right there with it in ride quality and handling, so is the Toyo Proxes. One I'd never recommend is the Falken Ziex....terrible tire. Hard to balance and handling was terrible.

The hands down best tire I've ever run, and I run them now is the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Assimetrico. It's not a cheap tire but it blows the others away handily. It's also one of the only Z rated tires for a light truck...which isn't a selling point to many but it was to me as I intend to spend some time north of 149mph when the motor work is done. lol

Lol above 149mph haha. I would freak out. I had a set of toyo proxes on my old GT and I liked them.

No I would absolutely LOVE it lol. Problem is that I cannot afford it. The only thing I have that will go fast is a 2005 R1 with all sorts of goodies.

I have a couple of buddies that build cars for the Texas mile....one has been 228 and the other went like 216 in his Z06....he sold that and built a twin turbo Viper. We saw 207 on the GPS in that one and it was still pulling HARD.
I can't afford that shit....it's fun to tag along though.

$1200 for the 22" MB rims and $1000 for the Falken tires (305/45/22) with road hazard and certs from my local Discount Tire. Not the most flashy setup but really like them and the ride is good. No suspension mods, yet.... Hope it helps.
