My tailgate is stuck shut when I pull the handle the latches don't even move I think something in the linkage is broken but what and how do I get to it?? Any help would be much appreciated.

I had on 05 that used to have the tailgate stick. If I pulled up on handle, pushed tailgate in, then quickly (but not to hard) pulled tailgate out the latches would let go. Was a matter of just lubing latches after that.

If that doesn't work, and if you can get access to inside the bed, there should be ten screws on inside of tailgate on a panel. Once you remove the panel it will give you access to the handle mechanism and toggle rods. From there you should be able to see what is going on. If you can see toggle rods moving then its most likely one of the latches that is sticking. If its a stuck latch you could try lubing using a can of spray lube with one of the little straw things attached to the can.
