Default 2012 Ram R/T (AT-3030 & K&N 63)

Hello friends, I got my new 2012 Ram R/T late Friday. I really love it but want to improve the performance. I have ordered a Aero Turbine exhaust (AT-3030), and plan to order a K&N 63 C.A.I..

I was wondering if anyone has tried this combination on a 2012 Ram R/T and what kind of increase in HP and torque I might gain from these modifications?

I plan to have a "Y" fitting right behind the (AT-3030) and leave the stock resonators on the truck.

As soon as I get my A.R.E. LSX tonneau, Bedrug, Bed extender and my Elite Limit "High out put" complete strip kit are added I will upload some pictures. Here is a link to Elite Limit http://www.elitelimit.com/. They make some very nice looking vinyl graphics designed to Ram Trucks.

Also, do you think this modification will cause any problems with my warranty?

Thanks Dan

That AT is a good muffler, but I would think about an alternative to a single inlet/outlet. I would do either a dual outlet muffler or two 2525s. Also, the K&N is outperformed by a lot of other intakes. Congrats on the new R/T!

Default At-3030 & k&n 63

Thanks for the information. I was going to put two AT-3030 instead of one with a "y" but my muffler mans said he did this for a customer and several months later his transmission went out and Dodge would not honor his warranty because he went to two mufflers vice one?

Also, which C.A.I. do you recommend instead of the K&N 63?

Thanks Dan

They can't deny transmission work for a muffler swap. I would suggest either a Vararam or S&B

I'm running a Vararam and love it! Highly recommended. Could immediately hear and feel the difference.

Not to mention it looks cool when you pop the hood.

Thanks Dan

I don't have that exact combo, but I have the Vararam and AT-3030XL. I love both and highly recommend them.

Default 2012 Ram R/T, AT-3030 and K&N C.A.I. Installed

Hi Friends,

Got my exhaust and intake installed this week. It really sounds bad. Got the exhaust put on Tuesday and the C.A.I. came in today. I think that AT-3030 increased my power more than the C.A.I., but combined I am sure its got more power now. Idles at 700 RPM and if you don't keep your foot on the break, it moves at 7 - 8 MPH without touching the gas pedal. I have to watch it in parking garages.

Made a quick run down the Interstate to check power and MPG. Truck has lots of power and running at 70 - 75 MPH on level ground it gets 22.4 MPG. It was only about 14 mile test, but I was impressed.

I would recommend that anyone making these modifications leave the stock resonators on and drive it a little. It's pretty loud even with them on, but if it's not loud enogh you can remove the resonators later.

Keep the shiney side up and the dirty side down...

Dan
