Default Getting a 2013??...the one option you gotta get...

When I bought my Ram it just so happened to have the 9 speaker upgraded stereo in it. At the time it wasn't a option I necessarily wanted or needed, but the truck had everything else I wished for, so I bought it anyways. Over the last 2 weeks I've heard Pink Floyd and TooL like never before. Who would of knew that the one option I cared less for would turn into one of the things I love most about my new Ram?!?! I thought a truck stereo was a truck stereo, but THIS STEREO IS AMAZING!!!

I've owned a ton of aftermarket car stereos, have had a Lexus with a Mark Levinson system, but bottom line is this Ram trumps them all. I still can't get over how clear and full every note it.

If you're and audiophile like me and in the market for a new Ram, don't let this option pass you by. Your ears will thank you in the long run.

Gotta back you up, for me a good sound system is first thing on the tick box. I was blown away by the Alpine, seriously. I had a 1000w Kenwood in my Mustang that i thought was well balanced. The natural output of the Alpine made me do all sorts of crazy traffic light take-offs. Great stereo and i agree it's a MUST have. If you enjoy driving.

I hope you're right because I hate the idea of losing the storage space because of the Sub. If I could have, I would have ordered a Laramie without it.... But then again, I'm no Audiophile either and the one option I feel ever truck should have is 4x4!

i hope that you know that the RA4 8.4AN radio is the only radio available with HD, in the 2013 Rams

you will not be able to change radios, once you buy the new Rams
Chrysler has RA1, RA2, RA3, & RA4 radio, the RA2 is not available in Rams
the RA3 & RA4 are the same size & Chrysler says that you can't even swap them
at this time, what you buy is what you are stuck with
that is going to suck because almost every Ram on the lot has the RA1 with no frills & a 3" screen

BY the way, the REMOTE CD/DVD player will not be available until May
there is no cd player inside of any of the radios, it is an add on that goes into the center console, whether you have bucket seats or the regular seats

I am enjoying my sound system as well but, I think it actually has 10 speakers counting the sub. There are still people out there that think this system is not good enough and will buy a aftermarket sound system

Agree that 4x4 is the one must have option on a truck but it's good to hear that the Alpine system sounds good. It would suck to lose that storage space and not get back much in return.

I ordered it without the upgraded system because I just couldnt bare the idea of loosing the storage.........then......the whole time i waited for my order I was convinced I screwed up....

All in all I am not a fancy sound kinda fella, so long as it works i'm happy, and even the stock system is good for my needs. It sounds good, and can be adjusted to my liking.

I have no doubt that the alpine system rocks hard, but I have no complaints as the stock system aint no slouch either!

Smile Am I missing something??

I have the 8.4 A or AN (don't have my book with me) with Alpine but it doesn't seem loud like I thought it would be. Is there a loud button? I have to turn the radio up to 12 or more just to hear it and then if I plug in my ipod then I have to turn it up to 20 and that's with my ipod volume on high. I do have the 10 speaker Alpine system minus the cd player. any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I'm jamming I listen to it between 25-30 on the volume. I finally think I found that happy place with the EQ too. It blows me away every time!

I also think it's funny how the stereo is so good that you can actually HEAR the difference in quality from music ripped from a CD vs. music 'stolen' from the net. I never noticed how crappy the internet music was until this stereo.
