Default Fan belt squeals and engine idles high

My 2008 Big Horn make a squealing noise when I start it and the engine idles high and it also revs high when excelerating, changed the fan belt thinking it would get rid of the squealing fan belt noise but didnt help and still idles high, anyone have this problem or knows what might be going on. Thanks

See if you can hear which exact pully is squealing, then change it. Pretty simple. Might be able to try some wd40 before buying a new pully.... (Just saying has worked for me in the past, but not for long)

Sure the high idle is not just because your motor is cold? As well as until your transmission heats up it will run more rpms.

Maybe you have more going on.... but from your above post that sounds like what it is.

Check the tensioner with a long metal rod, screw driver or something similar, when the truck is started by listening to metal rod with one end touching the tensioner. Be careful that is all you touch so you don't get hurt. My 2010 had to have the tensioner replaced at 4,000 miles.

If you are noticing high idle is this right after start up? If so it is normal until engine warms up. Otherwise I have no idea of what is going on with your idle.
