Default Embarrassed to be a RAM owner...

...mainly because my driveway has been graced with rentals and courtesy cars almost as much as what I thought would be my last purchase for a long while. Less than than 4,000 kms on the odometer and the brakes don't work. They haven't for a while. The pedal just keeps going, and is slower than molasses coming back up. I can't get the ABS to kick in. The worst part is that it's a 6 hour round trip to get to a dealer that's worth going to. The dealer has been great (Can't blame them; they didn't assemble this thing). As part of the warranty troubleshooting process (which BTW is agonizingly slow) they found a problem with one of the calipers and replaced it. Well that wasn't the problem (So there were actually TWO problems with the braking system). Now, here I sit with a $9,000 caliber in my driveway instead of my brand new 60k truck. This thing is getting more sour and more yellow with every passing week.

Yeah, I'd be a little disgruntled too.

Good luck.

Yup, sucks, especially your 6hrs away from the dealer. Shit happens to any make and model, maybe this is your one and only ever issue with it and now that it will eventually be over, you will have clear sailing for the rest of the life of your truck. Hope things get solved for you soon. Best of luck

Sounds to me like it's the brake booster, had a simular problem with my last car (2000 Neon), I also at first thought it was one of the front calipers replaced both still had the problem of soft peddle ( actually no brakes what so ever) then my father in law told me he believed it was the booster. Changed it and booooom brakes where back.

That does suck. Sounds like you got a bad one. I'm suprised the dealer hasn't replaced the thing all together.

Thanks guys! Had a bit of a rant there. Yes I can only hope that this is the only issue and it'll be clear sailing after this. I will mention the brake booster when I talk to them next. The mechanic thinks its the ABS module. However, he has to "ask" permission from the warranty tech support back east. If they don't think that is the next step then he can't touch it. The first time it was in they had him isolate each corner until they found the bad caliper, but the problem came back a few days later. If this problem comes back a third time we are definitely gonna push for them to take it back and give us a new one I will post again when it comes back or when they know more.

My wife had a 07 Lincoln MKX. DID THE EXACT SAME THING YOUR TRUCK IS. Dealer studied it for weeks, every piece of the brake system came back as ok. Traded it in right there on the spot. Nobody throughout Ford Motor Company could figure it out.
