Default Changing from 17"s to 20"s 2012 Outdoorsman

I've got a 2012 Outdoorsman that came with stock 17" wheels. I got a great deal on a set of 20"s off a 2011 Ram Sport and was wondering if there are any issues with mounting them. Will the speedo be accurate and will towing capacity change? I don't do any heavy towing but occasionally hook up a 23' travel trailer that's about 5000lbs dry.

Thanks!

There is an overall diameter difference. The dealer can reprogram the ECM so the speedo will be correct..or a programmer will do it, if you have one.
You can look at the sidewall of the tire to see the max load value of each and compare. I don't think towing will be affected.

Thanks for the info. My plan is to use the 20"s in the summer and 17"s in the winter so having the dealer re-program will be a pain considering it's a 1 1/2 drive. I have an aftermarket NAV system that displays speed so that won't be a problem (sorry, never thought of that when I made the original post). Is the diameter difference enough to effect shift points? I'm worried about extra stress on the transmission and could it cause problems with the warranty if there is power train trouble at some point.

What they said.

You won't have any issues at all given that they are OEM. The overall diameter is slightly larger, but not much. You won't notice a difference at all.

You can get a Diablo Predator programmer and change the tire size yourself..and get the benefit of a retune...big difference in power. Worth every penny. I am pretty sure the 2012 tunes are available..if not, they will be soon.
