Default AMP PowerSteps

Looking at getting the AMP PowerSteps for my 2009 CC. Question for anyone who owns a set, how do these steps hinder putting the truck on a lift at the dealership for maintenance, or having to use a jack in the emergency that I have a flat tire some time in the future.

Amp steps mount to the body behind your rocker panels in the same holes used for factory steps and as such in no way hinder putting your truck on the lift. as for jacking, you always jack from the frame or axles so they in no way impede you when you have a flat. After over one year and two Canadian winters I can report that my Amp steps have lived up to all my expectations and I am very happy with them. I intalled them myself and it took about 3 hours total. Go for it you will love them

I tried the AMP Research Retractable Running Boards on my previous truck [75105-01A] for a short period.

It was one of my very few "blind" purchases as I did next to no research prior to purchasing.

They were cheap and flimsy looking, from the hardware to the steps themselves; certainly not what the images on their pages portrayed or what I expected..... but they did hold up well for the [short] time I owned them. They worked [only] four out of every five attempts [extend] and required me to re-open and close the door to re-activate them. They ALWAYS folded back in [retract] and you could barely notice their existance if you didn't know they were installed. Installation was, suprisingly, a lot easier than I imagined with no issues.

Sold on them eBay just shy of six weeks after purchasing them.

Yes, I did disclose to the new buyer the issues I had with them along with my dissatisfaction.

Will never buy another set again.

Just forwarding my experience.....

In the brief period I owned them, I never had the truck in a shop, a flat tire or anything of the like so I can't help you there, but it's great concerns your raise.

Hope you have better luck than I did if you purchase them.

Default No problems

Had mine for a couple weeks now and they've deployed everytime I've opened the door and retracted everytime I've shut it. Only complaint is one side kinda rubs on the pinch weld on its way up. Overall I love them

I love the idea of the AMP steps, but I can't see paying THAT much for them. I've seen quite a few rigs with them installed and they look awesome and work great. But call me cheap, I'd rather pay half the price for the tube steps. And no, they won't interfere with putting your rig on a lift. EXCEPT, for having to raise the pedestals a little bit further so that the steps don't hit the lift arms.
