to clip on the plastic cap right? bad design I agree. That reminds me of how I hate that they have holes where the company badge is attached so that you cant take it off easily without leaving ugliness. How can I buy a FORD and strip it so nobody thinks less of me??

I have had both Rhino and Line-X in my vehicles for years and both are excellent products. If either of them aren't applied properly they will fail but I have never had them peel or split. I have the floors and about 12 inches of the walls in my company vans sprayed and they all hold up very well.

I don't think you can go wrong with either product....

Here are some facts:

The Dodge factory bedliner is from Ultimate Linings and applied by a company called Ground Effects, Ltd. (GFX). In June of 2012, LINE-X bought GFX, however, due to contracts that are in place, the factory bedliner will not change...for at least the time being. The factory bedliner is only about half the thickness of most aftermarket bedliners. Also, you only get a 3 yr/36K mile warranty with the factory bedliner while most aftermarket companies give you a limited lifetime warranty.

If you look at the technical data sheet for LINE-X and Rhino (Tuff Grip and Hardline), you will see that LINE-X is WAY stronger than Rhino. LINE-X has almost a third higher tear strength and a 53% higher tensile strength. If you get LINE-X Premium (or LINE-X Xtra) instead of standard black LINE-X, they will hold their color and gloss.

Scorpian is a different animal and much lower in the food chain. It's more like marine paint. Unlike LINE-X (and Rhino) it requires a primer be applied to the bed since the bedliner product does not obtain good adhesion. The bedliner product is applied by rolling it on or using a hopper gun. Scorpian is a solvent based product like Herculiner, etc.

My dealer Having it sprayed by linex locally, he says due to the off site spraying of the factory option it is better to just have it done with the local guy, for about the same price.

Nice, thanks!
Rep. for that! Your information sounds right on.
Although I am still happy with the factory liner, it does seem less thick than my last Line-x -ed truck

Thanks! The factory bedliner is about 60 to 65 mils on the floor. LINE-X should be about 125 mils on the floor.

I went to a Line-X shop in the Tacoma WA area yesterday to get a quote. They were asking $500 for black on an 8' bed, which is not the lowest price but it's not too bad. Since I spend most of my time in Arizona I don't want a black bed (don't need extra heat when I hook up my gooseneck trailer...) so I asked if they could make it a light gray. They quoted me $1,200. Later I called and they quoted $900 for the same thing. Needless to say that I will not do business with them.

So now I'm looking for alternate bedliner products. I've heard good things about Speedliner. Anyone used that product and give their opinion? Thanks in advance for your posts....
