Default Would like to put in the better Cluster.

Maybe this was answered before but I have searched. Links are always good. One of the things I wish I really pushed for was a premium cluster. But being the last of the 2012, the only one they could have found had 2 wheel drive. (I was looking for a long bed and a regular cab.) Has anyone switched out a regulator cluster for the premium? I really want the EVIC. Can I upgrade the steering wheel to a leather one with the switches? What is all involved in this project? Plug and play? I already put in the Factory electric brakes with the rewire mod. so I have some skill. Any help would be great!

it can be done get the cluster and plug it in buy tire pressure module for individual tire pressure get dealer to flash rdz and xbm sales codes theres also a wire splice to make at the clock spring so the horn will work and u have to get a cluster that is the same miles as yours miles as they are stored in the cluster but it can be done

Thanks for your input PostalTwo. I also talked to the dealer and I can send in the newer cluster to get the miles updated. I am thinking of adding miles so when I get it back I have time to get it in and set it all up. Do you know the wire splice that needs to be done?

If i remember correctly, you can go to a Certified speedometer shop & they can do the official paperwork needed to install any speedometer/odometer, to keep it all nice & legal
there are certain things that you MUST do, otherwise it can be called an attempt to defraud

here is the LAW

at the clockspring in the colum

So here is the final mod setup for the evic install. This basically has three wires that are spliced. One is a ground, the other is the LIN BUS and the last is a fuse B+ wire. I would start by creating a harness of two wires or red and green, about three feet in length. Then splice the wires that are shown in the pics provided on the link below. Make sure these wires are firmly installed to prevent it being lose and bad contact. Lastly make sure you find a suitable ground location. Once complete, you should see the steering wheel buttons light up. All buttons should work and horn should be operational. Note: None of the buttons or horn will work without the EVIC installed nor will most everything in your cab will work. The EVIC is where most everything runs through. If you install the old ST cluster, everything will work except the horn and buttons, you should still see the buttons light up though. BUT, without the proper sales code added to your vin then nothing will work with the EVIC. This can be done at your local dealer, provided they have common sense and want to help. The mileage will be up to you Some people like to just burn up miles on their old cluster to catch up to a used EVIC.

Here is the link for the pictures for the wire splice mod that you need

Don't worry GTyankee, I plan on updating the miles to my truck. Thanks PostalTwo for the GREAT write up and Pictures! Now there only one thing left to do. Find the switches that are on the left side of the steering wheel. Anybody have a clue on the number so I may order it from Dodge? Thanks.
Also do you have the exact place the tire pressure module sits on the truck so that I could pick one up from the junk yard? Or maybe the number to a new one?

Well I got the parts for a cluster upgrade and I need one more piece. The TPMS! Does ANYONE have a picture of where they are located??? What the Plug-in that is needed to connect to it looks like? The threads for TPMS here seem to be for the sender in the tire. Any help would be great.
