Can you explain the small air filter more?

Edit - thought they came saying air grabber. Looks to be a sticker
The vararam includes a chrome old-style valve cover breather, and the instructions state to use the rubber elbow found beside the oil filler to attach this breather. I used the straight piece of rubber that connects to the stock airbox, along with a K&N style (spectre brand) valve cover breather. This not only stands the filter up-right, it still allows easy on-off of the oil cap. I like the upright better than the lying on it's side look. You'll see what I mean when you get yours ready to install. And yes, the airgrabber is a decal I added, these came on the 69 RoadRunners that were factory equipped with cold-air induction. The decal was on the front of the underhood airbox.

With the small filter, you're basically changing your stock closed crankcase vent system to an open crankcase system. When you remove your stock airbox system, you also remove the tube from the airbox to the intake, which is where you place the small filter when you go to the vararam. This vents the pressure in the engine. We had open vent systems for years, until the EPA decided we were ruining our air quality, thus the closed (emissions) systems.

I was already thinking about venting it into the red tube provided. Didn't know it came with one ready.
You're talking about the vent tube that goes from crankcase to stock air filter, right?

Yes. The instructions say to use the elbow found on the driver's side of the vent tube. I just used the straight piece that is on the airbox end of the tube, along with a smaller breather. Only difference is mine is up-right.

If you vent the crankcase into the red tube connecting the vararam to the throttle body, aren't you defeating the purpose of an oil catch can? Just a thought.

I got the Grabber at 5:30 yesterday, and by 5:45 was on the road noticing the top end difference. Now for the question... what to do with the large open space where the air box used to be? Admitidly, I didn't read all 27 pages of this thread, and suggestions may have been made already. I was thinking of re-installing the air box, and using it as a safe, hand gun storage, etc. Or maybe a secondary battery placement, or air compressor for the air lift system. Thinking I am going to fab (or have fabbed) a bracket for a biometric gun vault to mount in the air box.

What have y'all done with yours? Any better ideas?
