Talking Owner's manuals

Somehow my DVD that came in the glove box owner's packet evaporated into thin air. After searching for it and digging through the web sites I found that another could be had through Mopar Tech Authority. With shipping and handling it came to about $55.00 US.

While attempting to find this item I stumbled across the fact that a hard copy of the actual owner's manual, radio manual and warranty book could be had for free, if you're the original owner, by requesting them from Chrysler Customer Service or the dealer. Mine arrived this week.

To my surprise the hard copy book that came with the truck is merely just the Cliffs Notes version of the Owner's Manual. At 726 pages long, this has got to be the War and Peace of owner's manuals. Lots of good info in here that was not in the abbreviated version and much easier to use than carting my laptop out to the truck with the DVD.

This is the kind of crap you have to deal with when the bean counters get involved in the process of making vehicles.
