Default 2012 ram slow to de-rev, after revving in park

just put on magnaflow 18" a couple days ago. when revving engine to listen( while in park) it takes longer than usual time to "de rev"RPMs come down very slow. is this normal for 2012? My 2010 rpms did not take but a second or so to drop, after gassing on it, in park.

Rev limiter on the ecu to keep you from blowing the motor while showing off to your buddies lol, tune it out and show off all you want... I hate it too...

Its not the revving up, i undertsand about the rev limiter. It takes long too un-rev, or drop down rpms or however in the heck you are supposed to say it. It is almost like it wants to stay revved up by itself, it comes throttles down, just very slowly.??????????????

Mines kinda slow to rev down as well. I just figured it was normal for the motor.

Old thread but...It's programmed to hold the rpms for a few seconds for some reason. It's weird. I like the rpms to fall as soon as I let of of the pedal. I've been trying to find information on this for a while. My question is, can this 'situation' be altered with an aftermarket tune?

This is a requirement in order to reduce nitrous oxide emissions. (Stabilizes cylinder-wall temps.)

I wonder how many other vehicles do this? Seems a bit over exaggerated when it happens. It's annoying when trying to demonstrate the exhaust note.

I hate this "stuck rev" also. I really try not to rev to high when showing people what my flow master 40 sounds like. I thought I was the only one that was bothered by this Lol!
