Kinda sad that CD players are being phased out. Its one of those things that comes in handy and is really cheap for a manufacturer to put in.

I have all my music on a flash drive, but I like to buy CD's when I really want to support an artist. Buying downloads isn't the same to me; you don't get anything but the music. And for the older generations, CD'sare even more important.

Boy does that bring back memories. I had a 1970 Duster with an 8 track player in it.

I have a BUNCH of CD's.....and never use them. My new '14 RAM came with the CD player installed in the lower storage of the console, and I doubt I'll ever use it. My music (outside of the Sirius) is stored on an MP3 player that plugs nicely into the USB port. Lack of a CD player certainly wouldn't deter me from buying a vehicle.

Anybody ever track down the part number for the factory CD player.
My local dealer seems a bit dense when it comes to finding the factory unit.
I'm in the market for the factory CD player,so if anybody with the factory unit, wants to sell theirs,i'm interested.

Hi All,

When I bought the Tradesman there were several people that were saying how I bought the "cheap" one. Well maybe so but I had the base radio and was able to put exactly what I wanted in it, not what the factory thought I should have. I said it then and I'll say it now I bought this truck to make it mine and the Tradesman is a blank canvas. It has everything I wanted and nothing I didn't.
BTW I have a Kenwood DNX570HD and I really like it.Took about 4 or 5 hours to put in, no cutting or splicing the factory harness so I don't have to worry about the "you altered the wiring harness" garbage.
Now my wife has a 2014 Avenger and I will likely be replacing the radio in that with a head unit that has nav and whatever else she wants also.
As for no cd/dvd I agree there are a lot of people who still have and use cd's and to put a system in a high end truck that ignores them is sort of a slap in the face.
