I just bought my 2012 Ram Laramie Longhorn with the 5.7 Hemi two weeks ago, I all ready have two thousand miles on it but my Miles per gallon is not all that great. Can anyone tell me if it will get better with time or is 18MPG all the better this truck can do? I feel it should do better because the 2007 that I traded in would get 22-23MPG on the highway.
I have found the only way to get close to the rated mpg is to not idle at lights ( shut truck off and then restart) and not to "warm engine " before driving. The rated fuel economy is formulate in a test lab with perfect conditions. Too bad they dont tell you real life mpg. In my humble opinion.
