I agree with that 100%. It would be nice to see real world numbers before you buy. Not complaining at all about my Ram. It gets pretty much what my 05 Seirra 2X4 got so I cannot complain. Right now I am averaging 14.5 - 16.5. Mixed driving but mostly city. With the winter blend in Wisconsin it is what it is.

I have just under 2000 miles on my 2012 QC and I'm stoked to see 13.5 - 14 mpg! Almost all "start and stop "city" driving so far though.

That's about what i got in my 99 v6 Dakota so no complaints here

I have averaged 13.5 in my 2012 with the 5.7 and 14.0 in my 2010 with the 4.7. Both had 33"-34" mud tires. I would kill for 18 mpg!!!
Your best bet to get better milage is to run street tires and buy a cold air intake (I suggest aFe stage II). The intake, however, will make MINIMAL difference in mileage... Muffler- no. Headers- maybe. Tuner- probably not. Throttle Body Spacer- hahahahaha hell no.

I can get near 20mpg on the highway if I stay around 55-60mph (4wd crew cab). My average on the DIC is 13.5mpg 50/50 highway and city. Gets worse with winter fuel too.

A 4x4 hemi crew cab is only rated 13/19mpg or something like that, at 'normal' highway speeds around here, 75mph or so, I get around 17mpg hand calculated.

I got my Laramie back in January. I don't think I have ever gotten 18 mpg. Of course now that I have 37" tires, I don't even want to know!

How are you guys calculating your mileage, pen and paper or EVIC? I'm a bit anal and figure my MPG every tank manually. Last few were in the 14 miles per imperial gallon range which equates to 12 or so on the US scale. WTF? This truck has never performed close to the window sticker claims.

I used to get around 15mpg average but now (winter warm-ups and more traffic) I get around 12. Whatever.... I knew what I was getting myself into.

It depends a lot on how you drive.

If you take off quick, and punch it once in a while, you will see much lower mileage.

My best Hwy. mileage was 21-mpg - - but I was driving in the 60 to 65 mph range.

In town average has been close to 16.

Hemi, with 3.92 rear end.

The Hemi is fun to play with, but your gonna reduce the mpg.

Try taking it easy for one tank, and see what the results are.

I figure my MPG with a pen and paper, I dont trust the computer it will only figure a rough average at best. I do mostly open highway driving, with anything from 110 to 300 mile in one trip. My old 2007 Ram would get 22- 23 at just under 2K RPM. My new 2012 Ram has the 355 rear end and I thought that it would get better Mileage but so far it's not, but I plan on making some changes soon that might help.
