Default Efan installed. Trinity temps?

Installed my tyc efan yesterday with ease.
I am still using the stock t-stat and set all temps on the trinity to 195, but I think that is too low...

Anyone know what the stock t-stat opens at? I think I would want to be about 5-10 degreas above that for fans on

Stock t-stat opens either at 203 or 204.....I have a 180tstat and I have my setting at 183.99 and 187.99 just fyi so I think 207 and 211 should be where I would set it at.

Ok.
I set them at 195 and temp still climbed to 202..
Makes sense now

Does your fan function in high and low speed ??
Some with the tyc and trinity say it only operates on high

You know I don't really know for a fact but I have the tyc fan also but I've never hit 187.99 degrees the high speed it set on. My setting like I said were 183.99 low 187.99 high and usually my temp sets at 183 to 185. So I'm assuming assuming it does have a low speed and high speed. I haven't had it in that long maybe a month since we never had tuning for the 11s..... I guess when it starts to heat again I'm sure I'll find out.

TBH's truck is very fast so I don't want to sit here and say he's wrong, and I'm not extremely familiar with the setting adjustments with the trinity, what the actual opening temp for the hemi 180 tstat is, etc.... what he is doing is obviously working.

But just keep in mind you want to have the efan running as little as possible, because if it is running then it is using hp(via the alternator). It's not exact, but having the efan run you can say you are using roughly the same hp as the clutch fan being engaged. The benefit of this mod is to have the fan not running.

Exactly.

My thinking is that 5-10 degrees above the stock t-stat open temp is when the fan should kick on. Right now it comes on before the thermostat is open which is why the temps continue to climb... Once t-stat opens, coolant does its thing and ect drops fast, back to 195

This mod was super easy to do with the use of an air hammer and seems to suit my I town driving very well.

For all people in Canada, I purchased the fan from van and truck world for 209 CAD.

Personally my 180 deg (advertised) tstat opens at ~187 deg (actual) and I monkeyed around with my fan on temp settings for 6 months + and then ended up setting it around 203 deg. So it would come on at 203 deg(after sitting idle for like 5 minutes only would it get that high) then turn off at like 195. With this setup the fan very rarely was running, and it was just when sitting idle that it ran. The truck ran cooler at all times still, as compared to stock. I recently put the settings back to stock and put the clutch fan back on, just because I don't really notice any difference. I left the 180 tstat though and the efan almost never runs.

All I did was take the stock temperatures and reduce them by 23 degrees each, as that is what changing the stock thermostat down to a 180 degree thermostat changed. I have no problems. This is on my Super Bee though.

Does the Trinity control both fan speeds?
