Default new to dodge trucks need guidance

ok first off let me say this site is info over load (wow). i just picked up a 2009 ram 2500 quad cab 4x4. im looking into picking up a CAI but i have no idea about them. While i think they look cool, do they do anything noticeable to the vehicles performance? my plans for this truck is to pull on occasion as my job needs me too (rare im in the army ).Now i see that most people say the first mod should be a CAI then exhaust . What else should i pick up? thanks for your time and once again this site rocks thanks for all the help

Welcome aboard!

The biggest gains will be from a programmer and an intake. The exhaust will help but its not a must do out of the gate.

Thanks. A programmer was an item that i didn't think of. I'm looking at picking up a k&n CAI now this is only based on name recognition. i see them everywhere so i know i can get parts if i should need them.

I really like my S&B Cold Air Intake, easy to install and performs great! I bought mine directly from their website and I absolutely love it! Welcome to the forums!

I have just done a quick search and i have not been able to verify if any of k&n CAI's for the 5.7l hemis will work on the 2500's, however i have found that you can get a AirAid 300-237 and it is compatible with your 2500, you can read more about it here https://discountautoperformance.com/...02a0591d0cb9dc

as far as exhaust goes most do a new Y pipe and muffler many are doing the 14" or 18" magnaflow

Ypipes https://discountautoperformance.com/...02a0591d0cb9dc

Mufflers https://discountautoperformance.com/...02a0591d0cb9dc

when paired with a CAI you will see noticeable gains

And then you throw a Trinity t-1000 on top of that and you my friend will have a very nice ride with some new found glory.

Trinity t-1000 https://discountautoperformance.com/...02a0591d0cb9dc (MAKE SURE YOU USE "DT1000" redemtion code for 17% savings)

We are running a special right now if you place an order you will also receive a free visa gift card you can read more about that program here http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=128221

Hope this info helps you out.

Thanks
Jeremiah

Default k&n

well i just received an email from K@N. they stated that they don't make a CAI for the 2009 ram 2500 and that they do not have an ETA for when they will have one. however they said they think the one for the 1500 should fit but they could not warranty the CAI. I don't think the CAI would cause issues to the truck i mean its been tested on a 5.7 hemi just not in a 2500.

There was someone else on here who has a 2500 with the 5.7, got the K&N CAI for their 2500, and it didn't go in the same way as on a 1500. He made it work. I am just trying to think of who it was.... GRRR! Welcome aboard the forumZ. We all understand the info overload for a newcomer. Just take it a day at a time, and if in doubt, just ask the question.
