The irony of the picture is that I'm an actual contract safety officer by profession... one of those, I should know better, but there was nothing else available at the time, and it was too precarious to try and drop the truck and fuel tank together as someone would have had to be under the truck while it was coming down to operate the trans jack. Lesser of two evils.

Engine is in place! Sorry for the crappy cell pics, but I forgot my memory card in my computer so the camera was useless.



I got the intake manifold positioned and everything buttoned up.



Supercharger bracket is in place and I've started positioning the intercooler and playing around with the piping.



Still waiting to hear from my tuner to get some base programming for the truck so I can get it home and out of the shop.

Once I get everything running I'm going to see if there's a shop in town that will do some custom A/C lines and I'll run them along the back of the engine bay. I can't stand the stock ones being out there in front.

We went to fire it up today, and after 2 attempts with no fuel pressure we realized that our lovely CANBUS system would send power to the fuel pump, but since I swapped to a Walbro 400, it would fire initially, then shut the circuit down because it received an invalid voltage return. So we bypassed the computer's programming by connecting to a switched line directly to the battery as a temporary measure. I'll wire everything up properly on an ignition-on circuit as part of my Painless wiring harness install.

With proper fuel pressure we kept trying to turn it over, but couldn't get it to fire... then found oil draining from between the block and bellhousing. I was all paranoid about a rear main seal leak... but after inspecting the old engine, realized that I forgot to install the oil gallery plugs So now I need to pull the trans again to put 2 freakin' plugs in. I ran out of time these days off to do this, so I had it towed home and it'll sit until I get home after my next week at work. Hopefully my friend's shop will be available this time.

I'd like to thanks Grant (catsltd) for his help today, it was greatly appreciated, especially for having to drop the fuel tank... twice... to troubleshoot the fuel pressure issues.

All that work for 2 damn plugs, bet you'll never forget those again on a future build lol I hear ya on the AC lines, I've been hunting for someone here in town to do the same thing. Hopefully next time around you can get that beast started back up and running, what's the Painless Wiring setup you mentioned though?

I'm back in town today so I'm having it towed to the shop again and I'll get the trans pulled and plugs reinstalled. I'm going to try and pull a start-up log before I do the plugs, leaking oil be damned, so I will hopefully get a working start-up tune from Josh by this afternoon and be able to nurse the truck home tonight. Once home I'll be able to get my electrical sorted out and put the fuel pump onto a proper ignition controlled circuit rather than the on-off switch under the hood I'm using right now.
