What are you going to do about the exhaust cutouts in the rear bumper?

It's been hard to do anything to the truck since I've been working constantly (literally) for the last 2 months, but I got home on Monday night and have made some progress.

Installed my triple gauge pod, Innovative LC-1 and DB AFR, boost, and fuel pressure gauges. Also did some preliminary test fitting of the 2 gauge dash pod that will be holding the nitrous controller and pressure gauge.

Dropped the truck off on Thursday to get the tips welded on, so now I can pull the back half of the exhaust and drop that off to my ceramic coater to make them all nice and flat black.

New CV shafts are being assembled and once I get them back it'll be a day at the local u-wrench where I'll install the CVs, new upper control arms, pads/rotors, grind out a bit of the inside of the drop spindle, and lastly I'll set the pinion angle and tighten up the rear control arms. I'm also dropping the truck off next week to get the notch welded in, but I'm going to see if removing the factory bump stops and brackets will give me the clearance I need before I start cutting up the frame. I'll be replacing them with a progressive bump stop mounted right into the frame.

Most of my parts are down at the border and I'm heading down next Thursday to pick it all up, should be a nice haul back for me, sadly I have to use my brother's truck since mine isn't ready for any decent driving right now. I've been having starting issues, and I pulled the plugs and they are carboned right the hell up, which is proof that the startup tune is fat as hell, plus I need to up my fuel pressure regulator again, it's sitting around 54psi when it should be 58-60.

This is a great build thread, I have been away for the last two years so I have a lot of catching up to do.
I have to say I am really sorry to hear about the demise of the other truck..she was a beauty and there was a lot of hard work that had gone into it. As for this project I just finished reading the whole 27 pages and like you past truck there is a ton of work going into this one (Green Mamba) and even though I have only been waiting since today...hurry up and get it done!!! I can't wait to see what the finished product will look like, this is going to be a stunner I think..love the colour scheme.

Hopefully you'll have some pics coming soon. I'm curious to see the exhaust system.

Everything's been on hold until I got the CV shafts back, which I received back from the assembler on Friday afternoon. It's been a busy weekend so I haven't been able to work on the truck.

As for the exhaust, I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy with it. Once the rollpan goes on the dual tips on the die may just look goofy. Everything running up to the rear axle I'm very happy with, but I may have to change it after the axle. Now I get to go to work for 2 weeks before I can do anything else.

Yay! I have something to update!

Got some time in the self-serve bay today and got the front end fixed up and all good, well, almost. On the agenda for today was the new front upper control arms from Michigan Metal Works with the uniball joint to replace the old ball joint; install the new Kore high-angle CV shafts; install the EBC Sport rotors and greenstuff pads (7000 series front, 6000 series in the rear); remove the rear bump stops; swap over to the 17" winter wheels/tires.

Comparison between the MMW and OEM upper control arms.

Kore vs. OEM CV shafts

The front install went really smooth, pulled apart the whole spindle assembly, swapped CVs, upper control arms, and did brakes. Same for the rear, total time to do everything was about 5 hours including an attempt to remove the bumpstop bracket, which I couldn't do with just the die grinder/cut off wheel, so I'll take a sawzall to it tomorrow. I had to ream out a very SMALL amount of the spindle's taper bottom to clear the larger diameter bolt on the new upper control arms.

Once everything was bolted up I dropped it on the lift and went to pull it out... to a horrendous screech/grinding/tire squealing. Front tires were jammed up something fierce, thought I might have made a mistake with the brakes, but since I didn't do anything to the caliper I was stumped.

Turns out that with the McG's spindles there is a clearance issue between the lower balljoint/wheel with the '13 17" stock wheel, so I trimmed the balljoint flush with the bottom of the nut... and that still wasn't enough. I swapped my 22s back on and no issues, but I'm going to pick up a 1/4" spacer to see if that makes any difference, but if it doesn't then I'm going to be stuck using an 18" minimum wheel, which means I'll throw the SSBC kit I have on.

Everything back in place

Finally broke down due to the weather and dropped the truck off to my brother's dealership. They are going to fix my oil leaks and do the front-end alignment. Sounds like my biggest leak is actually from the valve cover, which I was surprised to hear, so we'll see what the final verdict is. I can't think of why the valve cover would be leaking if it's all torqued down unless the gasket was jacked at some point.

I have decided to do a rear air ride suspension so I can get the rear ride height I want. I'll be putting together a spring-replacement kit using probably a set of 2600# Dominator II or Ride Tech 3400 double convoluted bags and a small 2 gallon tank with a 400 series compressor, nothing fancy, still pricing it all out. With the ride height I want I only have 1/4" clearance on the bump stop cups, so those need to come out and the current spring/shock combo just won't work for me in the long term. Still looking at ride height controllers though, lots of options to choose from, but frustrating because I only want to do the rear of the truck, not all 4 corners.
