I kind of figured you guys might be talking, I know he talks to Andrew a lot but that's because he can't stay happy with one mod longer than a couple months lol I'm glad you guys are figuring it all out, I'd love to have a DWB set eventually painted up similar to your green set. I still want some chrome lol

This is exactly his concern for mine.
How exactly will it work for our DRL?
Can the DRL be swapped from the highs (low voltage) to the LED strip?

The only way I can see running the DRLs with the proper '13 set up would be to run from an ignition-on power source that's relayed with the shutter and parking lamp, I'm thinking maybe a DPDT to control both sides with one relay. Since the in the '13s the TIPM controls the LED functionality it would be difficult to judge how it'd react when you have the DRL active and go to use the turn signal. Granted, that's the point of the harness I built, to play around with it.

Once I get the DRLs figured out I'll be forwarding my info to Jeremy. I'm not doing this to make money, I'm doing it improve products so others can get what they need in the future.

I've bought enough to make 5 pairs now, so I'll experiment and then i plan to sell off the ones that work, at cost.

for you bud!
Pls, pls chalk me down for a harness as I'm sure I won't be getting one that works the way I'd like it to work only for the simple fact, he doesn't have one to play and test with.
But yes, I'll grab one for sure

ok I'm a bit confused, the DRL's is the "Auto" mode on my light selector switch right, because even with that selected my lights are never on in the afternoon. I honestly never really looked at a set of 13' lights as far as function goes, so is that LED strip on the bottom also the blinker? How hard would it be to just add an LED strip vertically on the side separately wired as a blinker. To me it just seams like it would be easier to re-wire everything than try to match up connectors, even though it's a pain as well I'm sure.

Haha, yea sorry bout the name part.
Wont make that mistake again

As for DRL, its actually turned on by the dealer here. Its mandatory here in Canada. in the US it isnt, but I have seen members go to their dealer (Arth) and get their turned on.
The problem is, I believe on the 13's, the LED below are the DRL's here in Canada. But how do we get the DRL on previous years, which are the highs (low voltage) onto the LEDs below.

Just to clarify, we only have a stock pick of this truck right? I'm not missing anything? I see green headlights by themselves. Where is this truck going????? Is it some mystery build??

In Canada we are required to have one set of forward facing lights active during the daytime, it can be either white or amber, but they must be illuminated during daylight hours when the vehicle is in motion.

The LED strip is actually 2 separate banks, a full length lower bank, and a half length upper bank, plus there's also 3 small LEDs behind the reflector. The LEDs function as the DRLs, parking lamps, and turn signals, so getting them to all behave without having the TIPM controlling them will be interesting.

Yes, the LEDs are the DRLs and previous years use a low voltage high beam circuit, so making them work may require the use of a relay. I'm thinking of using a DPDT relay to control the DRL and the shutter to avoid potential humming issues that later 4th gens can have when activating the shutter. Having a DPDT will allow the activation of both head lamps off of one relay reducing the cost and simplifies trouble shooting.

The first post tells you the plans. Currently the only mod on the truck is a set of smoked Spyder LED tails and an Anzo 3rd brake light. The hood and roll pan have been dropped off to my painter. I can't wait to pull the 100,000km engine and drop in a new forged block.

Early next week I pick up my new engine and tranny, drop kit parts, BT bling, rest of the harness parts, and new fuel system, plus a few more goodies I'm forgetting. Hopefully the weather's good next week because I want to get the drop kit, shocks, brakes, calipers, and Spohn trac/panhard bars done.
