alot of people will notice a little bit better mileage with a cold air intake, also some tuners have an economy mode that will get you a little better mileage also, the main thing with these two mods is to be able to keep your foot off the gas as the power gains will be a little higher and the cold air intakes make your truck sound amazing. There are also other minor and not so minor things you can do but the cost of them are pretty hi, some say you can also ad a bed cover to gain better mileage. Hopefully more people chime in with ideas also If you ever need pricing on anything feel free to contact me i would be more than happy to help you.

Thanks
Jeremiah

I have added a bed cover and just installed.I try to keep my foot out of it and on the hwy I put cruise control on and set at 65. I have been looking at the CAI and still tryin to choose.

You got a brand new engine 3k ago? It might be a bit more before you see better MPG's because it is such a new engine. Also what rear axle ratio do you have. Turning those big tires will cut down an MPG or two I am sure.

Default Better MPG

All Synthetic fluids in everything.
E3 Plugs.
MSD Coil, much hotter more powerful spark.
New MSD Wires.
Cold air intake, DIY or name brand, just use K&N filter.
Headers & dual exhaust. I wrap my headers.
Remove engine fan & replace with dual electrical fans. gives more HP too.
I replaced bearings with best available for less rolling resistance.
I inflate my 285/75/16's to 48LBS and rotate every 4K.
Take out & clean injectors or have an injector cleaning done professionally.
Remove ALL extra & not needed weight.
Easy on gas pedal, manuals are better on gas.
Coast on hills, coming up to red lights/stop signs, IN Neutral.
I changed my 5.9 to a 5.2 & MPG is WAY better.
Use AC only if absolutely necessary.

I live in Rural area east of Toronto and have many times turned engine off and coasted down large hills for up to 7.5K or 4.5 miles.

MPG stays around 19-21 depending on how much I HyperMile
