I've got a 95 1500 with a stock 5.9 360. Recently I straight piped it to see if I liked the way it sounded. I noticed it has a crackel to it and I was wondering if I put a tailpipe on would it drown out that crackle tone? Thanks, Matt

I'm not sure what you mean, did you cut the exhaust before the rear axle or something? Im assuming that's what you did. I would assume that would then make a difference, but furthermore I believe bigger diameter pipes would really make the difference though.

Straight piped will do that to you. Especially under WOT. Without some sort of small muffler you're going to continue to have the "cackle". Doesn't help that you're dumping right under the cab either.
