Default simple cheap offroad mods

so, if any of you have been following me (im on the off road ness alot)
you know i have a new truck... and i like to play in it. ive already been learning my lesson but its all good. i love the truck and i love what i do

that being said... here is what i got going on so far

now, got the new ram runner bumper. a must for anyone in gen 4 trying to go off road at all. our approach angle is too terrible to not have something.... BUTT this new bumper completely opens up all the fender wells, which has the intake outlet!!!! so of courseeee i learned the hard way that the intake is extremely exposed to water..... (good thing rams got some safety features that shut off my motor before i did any damage)

so what i did.... made a snorkel! cost about 15 bucks and maybe an hour of work

used gutter extension (i know some of you old guys will gasp at this rig but whatever it works) and silicone. and some zip ties. the gutter extension fits perfectly into the stock air box hole, drilled small holes and zip tied to keep it secure. then silicone d the shi@ out of it to keep it water proof. re installed... routed tube to best area, and viola works great now short of sinking truck up to top of hood.... im good

next rocker guard. pretty cheap... maybe 50 dollars... but not as bad as going to linex or rhino line and spending 600...... i literally taped off my bottom foot of truck took a hand sander (yes... took a hand sander) buzzed the paint... taped... and blasted with duplicolor bed lining. took a little longer... little more attention to detail... but works good. being a long truck ive smacked a rock or two and instead of having paint damage and body damage it just deflects off the tough rubbery bed lining

also.. since i hit that tree.. my auto body company gave me my old grill... so i played with my emblem... come to find out you can pop the whole ram head off... and the black background off . so i did... scuffed it up and painted it up looks great did a primer and then some heavy duty red paint forgot to clear coat but its holding up so far. i want to do all the other emblems but those are double sided taped into place... so a little more time intensive.

other mods to come skid plates... custom tow hooks, and maybe a new intake.. thanks for takin a look let me kno what you think

(sorry for grammatical spelling errors.... typing fast and used to txt lingo)

I did almost the same thing on my 96 Ram with the Duplicolor Bed Liner, I used it on the known rusting issue on the underside of the door and on my front bumper. Just tapped it all of and sprayed it on but for a final finish I used some VHT semi-gloss black epoxy paint. Gave it a shinny but not to shiny look to it. Did you have a problem with the Duplicolor clogging up when spraying it? I did and was wondering if it was me or just how thick that stuff is.

Looks great man! I am hoping to do the rockers sometime with the same stuff I used on my step bars which was the rustolem truck bed liner. The stuff seems to be holding up pretty good on those so I'm thinking of using it on my bumpers and rockers since the plastidip isn't holding up very well on my bumpers.
