Default Black Headlights Legal?

I've been thinking of getting some black headlights like these on eBay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-08-Dodge-...c6e05b&vxp=mtr

I was wondering if they are legal since they do not have amber reflectors. I will still have the amber turn signal bulb, just not the amber reflector.

If anyone knows if they are legal or not in Missouri, let me know!

you should be fine...you light colors will still be correct (white- headlights, amber- turn signals) so I doubt anything illegal just because they dont have reflectors built in. As a police officer, (most others probably are the same) I wouldnt mess with you just because of your head lights not having reflectors...it'll be if you're driving like an idiot or some other factor drawing the attention of police that while you're pulled over, they may mention or cite you (if not legal in your state) for head lights. INdiana law basically states certain colors can only be emitted from the vehicle (red- tail lights, amber- turn signals, white- headlights/back up lights) any other colors and you better have authority (police, fire, ems, funeral home). Hope this helps.

I didn't figure they would be illegal but I just wanted to see if anyone knew for a fact. Thanks for the info though!

Those would not be considered legal in the state of Missouri. The front of the vehicle must have amber reflectors and the rear have red reflectors.

They wouldn't be legal in SC either. And as stated above, would most Law Enforcement bother with you? No, BUT there are some, somewhere near you I bet, that will know and can make a big deal from it. I have several times. I enjoy the argument in front of the Judge when someone states "the company said they were legal". Biggest thing to remember... don't draw attention to yourself while driving!

Well I talked with a state trooper today and he told me they will be legal. He said as long as I have the correct colors (white headlight, amber turn signal) when the lights are on, the reflector does not matter.

MORE INFO:REFLECOTRS ARE LEGALLY REQUIRED BUT AS STATED BEFORE, PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BE THE SOLE REASON YOU'RE PULLED OVER, AND EVEN IF IT WAS, YOU MOST LIKELY WOULD NOT GET A TICKET BUT EACH STATE AND EACH OFFICER VAIRES.....MOST STATES HAVE THEIR LAWS ONLINE JUST SEARCH AND YOU'LL PROBABLY FIND YOURS. HERE'S INDIANA LAW REGARDING LIGHTS AND REFLECTORS:

IC 9-19-6-8
Clearance and marker lamps and reflectors; color displayed or reflected
Sec. 8. (a) A front clearance lamp, marker lamp, and reflector mounted on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle must display or reflect an amber color.
(b) A rear clearance lamp, marker lamp, and reflector mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of a vehicle must display or reflect a red color.
(c) A lighting device and reflector mounted on the rear of a vehicle must display or reflect a red color, except as follows:

(1) The stoplight or other signal device may be red, amber, or yellow.
(2) The light illuminating the license plate must be white.
(3) The light emitted by a back-up lamp must be white or amber.

the housing itself shouldn't be a factor, as long as you have the amber reflector in there you should be ok. I know there's Cops in here but I'll still say it, as long as you're not drawing attention to yourself they'll leave you alone. Even if you have the reflector removed or painted, if you still have an amber flashing turn signal you'll be ok unless you're giving them a reason to look at your vehicle and give you citations over it. Also SC sucks for their laws, you can't even tint your tail lights there, or have a vehicle from another state passing through with tinted lights. I was driving up to Truck Nationals in PA from FL and got pulled over at 2am, a cop happened to be coming down the off ramp, and pulled me over because my lights were tinted. He only gave me a warning ticket, but also warned me I might get pulled over again. I don't blame the cop, he was doing his job, I just think that particular law sucks lol
