Default Throttle body adapter for intake

do they sell a adapter plate with a 3" inlet to put on these things so i can hook a filter directly to the TB. i kno K&N has a kit for it but doesnt explain how they hook it to the TB. Oval shape fitting? im half tempted to fab one up. a 6637 filter would do wonders hooked to it.

Again I hate to tell you this. First K&N filters are awful for street rigs. They let way too much fine dirt in. I ran one on our 02 Dakota 4x4. We bought it new & I installed the K&N. Well at 30K I needed to replace the plugs on the 4.7L V8. (Recommended change by factory) Well to get to a plug or two I had to remove the air box. To my horror the TB was full of fine dirt. I had to pull the TB to clean it competely. The K&N went in the trash. It was oiled correctly.
If you know any guys that do Flow Testing you will discover that most OEM filter supply more air than can be used by a stock engine. Unless you are running flowed heads, manifold, & TB with cams etc. An OEM air system is plenty. You can't get 5qt in a gallon can. The engine can only use so much air, without turbos or superchargers forcing the air in.

The only way I know of is with a tube that clamps or bolts to the TB.

u mean remove that last bit of plastic that is a 3/4 circle with a flat bottom. ill take a gander. i might throw a factory wix and run the tube somewhere to get fresh air id like to cut the ribs out of the air box too.

I never paid much attention to aftermarket cold air because unless as I said if you aren't running a modified engine then in my opinion your wasting valuable time & money.
But if they are hooking direct to the TB how else can you attach either a clamp or set screws. They must make a piece that fits to the TB that is the shape of the TB to round. An adapter of some sort.

Lol thats what i was trying to say. i was going to CNC a single piece of aluminum from that weird 3/4 circle to a 3in inlet so u can hook a 4inch tube to it and run it where you please.

I'm not sure if a Viper V10 manifold & TBs will fit but that would solve the problem of making anything because there are speed parts available for them.
