Default Crazy strange phone call

At the very beginning of the series of events that landed me in the driver's seat of a new truck, I was getting the Diff-lock repaired on my Toyota FJ Cruiser. This was also the same day that they gave me the bad news that I was going to need an ABS modulator to fix a screwy brake pedal for the cool tone of $1800 - for the part. This triggered me to wander about their lot for a bit before requesting a test drive of a 2013 Tundra. My impression of the Tundra was a "meh" when we got back, and they went into full on salescreature mode. Their numbers never added up, and I cross checked them with my bank. They were so far off that I simply told them that I was done, and left with the FJ after paying the $1100 bill for getting the diff lock fixed.

Today, I just got a phone call. The salescreature was going to deliver me my brand new Tundra to the door, and pick up my trade. Never mind that I never signed any piece of paper agreeing to buy a vehicle. After some initial confusion over what he was saying, I point blank told him that I was not going to buy a Tundra, and that I had bought my Dodge. He tried again to insist that they got the numbers "right", and that he would be at my place in two hours. I told him again that I had already traded in the FJ, and that it blew a bearing on the way to Minot, and that Chrysler took over $7k off of their sticker, and that I no longer had the vehicle.

Once he realized that his ruse was up, he quickly tried to backpedal, claiming that he called the wrong person - never mind that they got off at the exact same time I did, and he was trying to deliver the exact same bluish-grayish truck to Williston.

This has to be one of the wierdest tactics pulled yet to move iron.

I've noticed the car dealers are pulling All Stops on their crazy arse tactics coming into the end of the year. It can be good if you keep your head, you can get a smoking deal. but boy are you right! They're acting insane!

I haven't heard that one yet, that's gotta be one of the stranger sales tactics. Personally i've only got one car dealer that i use, and one salesman ive bought every vehicle ive owned through him (with the exception of the $500-$4000 i owned when i was just starting to drive) and never had a bit of problem, its acutally pretty easy with him, i send him a text saying hey this is what im looking for this is what i want to pay this is what i have for trade, line up my options on top of the hill and ill be there tomorrow. Always seamless and no pressure

Yeah, I've never had anything like that happen. The oil patch has been an interesting place. One does not buy cars in Williston. The stealerships in town are greedy, and rarely if ever budge a cent off of sticker. I had to go to Sioux Falls, SD to buy my Volt, went to Minneapolis to buy the FJ Cruiser, and the Dodge was the closest to where I live, but was still about a 2 hour drive. I've never had any dealer ever in my life call and tell me that they were going to personally deliver a vehicle at my house with papers to sign even after telling them no.
