Default thinking of going cummins

right now i have a 11 2500 gaser thats lifted on 37's. i'm thinking of lookiing for a 10 cummins and taking my lift and tires and putting it in the 10. what are you guys seeing for mpg's with the cummins? what deletes and tunners are you guys running and what kind of mpg's are you seeing after those mods? right now i get about 8-9 mpg with my sled deck on. might see 10 without the deck and with 2 sleds i get no better than 8. looking for something that will get me in the mid teens with the lift and tires.

Sounds about right for a Hemi.
I got between 7-9mpg towing my trailer with quads and gear when I have my 1/2 ton with lift and 35's. Same trailer and gear I average 15-16mpg towing with my 6.7. Once I hit the highway I dont leave 6th gear which is nice because the old truck would search gears constantly trying to maintain speed. Unloaded I see 17-21mpg on the highway ( it drops quick as the speeds get over 65) and 12-15 in town.
H&S Mini Maxx and Diamond Eye 4" turbo back exhaust. Toss in an EGR delete and you will pick up a little more mpg.
You will take a hit with the lift and wheels, but it wont be nearly as bad as the gas pig.

okay thats what i thought, i just want to be in the mid teens, but keeping it under 75 might be tough. is the h&s xrt pro any good? see that it doesn't read certain things, is that an issue? what other programers can turn off the dpf with a delete?

I'm averaging 16 MPG combined city/highway. I have an automatic with 3.73 gears. I'm running the "mild" tune on my H&S XRT Pro with just a MBRP delete pipe (for the DPF and NOX only).

Yes the XRT is good, just like the Mini Maxx but without the display. The XRT just plugs in like other tuners, downloads the map to the ecm then you unplug it. My Mini stays plugged into my Diagnostic port and has a digital display.
Another option would be EFI-Live.

Also, in regards to your lift. You will need new coilsprings as the Cummins is much heavier than the Hemi. That is why their are different springrates for the two engines.

getting new springs is not an issue.
