The oem wheel is not the correct width for a 12 1/2" wide tire, the tread is crown and not lay flat. The truck will handle like . You will also need 4.56 gears or lower to maintain power.

I would have to disagree. If you search around you will find quite a few guys running 35x12.50 on the stock chrome clads. Those wheels are 9" wide. They might be slightly narrower than the ideal size for a 12.50 tire but they are not too narrow. Yes, the truck will handle different because of the wider contact patch, not because the rim is too narrow for the tire. And yes, there will likely be a slightly noticeable difference in power and fuel economy because a 35x12.50x20 (I'm assuming a mud tire) is a heavy tire. It might be a little more noticeable in the 4.7 but either engine will pull 35's fine.

As for the fit issue, no the level will not be enough. You will need 1/4" spacers to clear 12.50's. I don't know for certain that this will be enough on a 2WD truck but several guys are running 35x12.50's with 1/4" spacers on 4x4s. It's definitely a possibility that you could run them with the spacers but you should do a little more research before you shell out for them.

The 35x12.5x20's will fit the OE 20x9 wheels just fine. If you look around a large majority of aftermarket wheels in 20" diameter are 8.5"-9" wide.
Toyo reccomends a 8.5" 11" wide rim for their 35x12.5x20.

I do believe that you will need more than a leveling kit to run a 35" tall tire on a 2wd.

Have to agree as well, I ran BFG All Terrains 35x12.50x17's on my 05, absolutely no rub, all I had was a level on it, my buddy ran BFG Mud Terrains, 37x12.50x20 on his daisies, he too only had a level, he had minor rub on the sway bar, not enough to worry about it

I found a better deal on LT275/65/20's so that's what I have.
