Default Dash compatibility

I just ran across a dash out of a 2001 truck. The ad stated it was out of a 1500 but then he said it was out of a diesel. My truck needs a complete dash as some of the support areas for controls are cracked and gone. It looks the same as my 2000 ram 1500 4x4. Can anyone help with some assurance that it is the same fit? I have never delved into this type of repair before and want to make sure if possible.

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks. I looked at those but after looking at my dash some of the underlying support area look to be broken off also. The only thing holding the heater controls in place is that previous owner rtv them to the cluster bezel, there is nothing to screw it to at the top. I don't know how much work it's going to be to change the whole dash out but I know I am not looking forward to it and it may wait for warmer weather.
