Default Can my truck do it?

So, my father in law comes to me today with a question. He owns a batmobile (from the 60s tv show) and a friend asked him to do a charity thing for a child with cancer in oregon. he lives in albuquerque. He asked if my truck would be able to tow it on a flat bed trailer. Heres the kicker. This car is a f$!@King monster. 19ft long and 6.5 feet wide (roughly) weight of the car is about 4,000 lbs and then weight of a big ass trailer. Is it to big for a 1500 to pull? I have a '12 qc 4x4 5.7l So realistically could my ram safely pull this thing 3,000 miles there and back?

you will want a trailer brake controller and air bags on the rear. i would figure the trailer and car would come in around 5500-6000# which should be within the rated capacity of your truck. What gear ratio is the rearend on your truck?

Your truck should be able to haul it without any problems. Usually with really heavy loads the problems aren't pulling, there stopping!

I towed a 6000 lb 26 foot bay liner with no problems. The trailer was tandem with mechanical brakes. My temps were normal however I did go through a ton of gas, mileage was cut in half. I have a 1500 QC 4 x 4. With 3:55's and HEMI. Hope you can get some pics of that batmobile.

Pictures of the Batmobile behind the Ram! Dodge may want to use them in their advertising, or Viagra.

You should be able to handle it with no difficulties. However I concur with the prevailing opinion, a brake controller is a must. Also air bags will make the trip better.

One caution, do NOT to use a Uhaul trailer with a surge brake. Your route has far to many declines to trust their equipment.

I will definitely look into a trailer brake controller. I have the 3.55s. In fact I pretty much have the exact same truck as Ransram except for a 2012. the trip is still a few months away. I will definitely be taking pics of it!

Should I get a aftermarket brake controller or the OEM one?
