If you are just getting your dealership to flash/reprogram the deck, after you install it, make sure they dont hose you on the labour.

I was quoted $70 and they are trying to charging me $108 @0.8hrs labour time... they had my keys for under a hr. and they didnt exactly jump on it like a pit crew.

Edit: so after a chat with the manager I am getting a $25 rebate.

I just received the kit with the CD. I need to compare the version I have on CD, with the version on the link above. I have a 2012 Ram 1500, can anybody verify the correct installation procedure in reference to the connectors and pins?

Looks like I got the 'new' version on the cd. On the bottom of the pages it indicates:

Dec 01, 2010 K6869459 Rev. 2

Please advise if anybody possesses a newer version.

I have installed the new tailgate latch, I plan to run the wires next weekend.

Thanks!

i found that the instructions dont help, i found that the wires they want you to tap are not there. been searching the interwebs trying to find a wiring diagram to figure out the correct place to tap.

Can anyone verify what color wire and what slot the reverse wire is on a 2012 1500? I'm going to tackle this tomorrow!

Thanks

All done and working!! I can verify that the reverse lead is the brown plug, WH/R wire. One other shortcut I can offer is, DO NOT cut the nipple for access into the passenger compartment. If you have an automatic, just drill through the plastic plate that is placed where the clutch slave would have been mounted. Just drill the hole in the middle and run your wire. I also sealed around the wire with silicone for a good moisture barrier. If you have the lockpick, you DO NOT have to go to the dealer to have the radio flashed. Even if you use the stock radio plugs, not the RCA plugs, the camera will work when wiring is complete!

Hope this helps.
