Yeah it's definitely in the radio in the settings, as Zixxer said just above. What I've noticed with that ECO light, doesn't impress me though

1. On the highway, if you're traveling over approx 90 km/h, the ECO light does not turn on. It seems to need all 8 cylinders to keep highway speeds. Anyone else have this problem? I chose the 3.55 rear axle ratio...which, so far, I'm hugely regretting. I don't know if that makes any difference though.

2. The fuel mileage really does not increase when the ECO light comes on, especially cruising around town (50-70 km/h). It just lights up and sits at the same mileage level. I notice no mileage improvement.

Honestly, did I screw myself over with this 3.55 axle ratio? Every day I think more and more that it was the incorrect choice. Any ideas?

What do you mean screwing yourself? Do you feel you should have went with the 3:21 or 3:92 ratios?

Yes, exactly. I keep feeling like I should have gone with the 3.92 ratio. I do mostly city driving but I picked the 3.55 anyways, for highway fuel ecomony and to keep the rpm low. It really lacks in the city though. Certainly doesn't feel like 400+ tq and 395 hp in the city.

I think the 8spd with the first 2 gears being 4.71 and 3.14 would have made a difference in stop and go city traffic. The 6 spd does not have these ratios. I plan on ordering a 2013 with the 8spd and 3.21 or 3.55 gears. I do mostly highway but I would try and test drive each if possible. I only tow my boat and snowmobiles so I hope the 3.21 would be ok. A little nervous about wether the trans would still be able to maintain o/d with the 3.21 gears pulling my boat(3000lbs). Not sure if any of the ram guys on here have an opinion.

I may be wrong but I don't know if the ECO light is an indication that the MDS is working...On my current 2012 Jeep wrangler I have an ECO light also that usually comes on as long as I'm not pressing the pedal to accelerate, it doesn't show any immediate mileage increase on the dash display which really isn't an accurate judge of your overall mileage on short periods. The ECO light on my Jeep is an indication of the optimum condition for milage.

I'm a little torn on this ...I plan on getting the 8-speed and deciding on the 3.55 or 3.92. Ill probably end up going with the 3.92 as from what I've been reading so far it shouldn't be much noticeable difference in gas either way.

So if this is the case, how is it indicated to the driver that MDS is active?

I have a 2013 with 3.92 and in order for the eco light to turn on I have to be on perfectly flat level ground with zero head wind. I had to drive 95kmh for the light to stay on and if you are going up the slightest grade poof turns off. I find it kinda pointless cause at 95kmh your not going to burn much gas anyways.

I drove an 09 or 10 can't remember but the light would stay on almost all the time as long as you didn't pass 110. Maybe it gets better with time? I'm only at 1400km.

My 2013 Sport Hemi with 3.92 gears hauls ass......Also tows fine too. 6100 lbs., truck holds 4th gear at 75 mph at 3000 RPM. Seems to be a sweet spot......355 gears would have sunk me......fuel mileage as indicated was 6/7 mpg....Oh well!!
