Default 05 QC build thread

I bought my truck two years ago bone stock. Its a 2005 QC 1500 mineral metallic grey with the 4.7. Here is whats been done so far.

The day I brought her home

First things first, 5% tint all around with 30% full windshield

Now for a better stance...2.5" Daystar leveling kit and Skyjacker 7000 leveling shocks

Next was a set of black housing headlights with clear blinker lenses and a set of 8k hids and V-Leds amber blinkers

Of course with black housing up front, I had to do something with the taillights and 3rd brake light. AVS covers on the tails and smoked 3rd brake. I debadged the tailgate also

Next, I needed a little more grumble...I went with a magnaflow 18" muffler to dumps

The next add-on was a set of 17x9" XD addicts wrapped in 35x12.50 Federal couragias.

Followed by a set of Go Rhino step bars

Night time pic

Lets not forget the shorty antenna mod

Now it just needed a little more height. 3" Performance accessories body lift ought to do the trick

Lift er up

As she sits today

The build is far from over, she has a long way to go but this is my start

That's quite the transformation! Very nice looking truck. Congrats on your hard work. The lift made a big difference. It had a slightly stuffed look before. How do you like the shorty antenna? I'm guessing you don't listen to much FM radio?

okay, I think these pictures confirmed I want to do a body lift. That looks fantastic! Love those tires, mine should be in today! And it also shows it doesn't look bad without fender flares...although I'll probably still get some.

that's a damn good looking truck! i had a 2003 QC 4X4 4.7L. that thing got terrible gas mileage; 12-13 mpg combined city/highway. how's your fuel economy with those 35's?

Thank you. I love the body life and was throughly impressed with the performance accessories lift too. It had everything I needed except the gap guards which I used industrial vinyl baseboards from home depot. Im thinking about fender flares, havent decided yet

ya me too on the fender flares. I kinda like it the way it is...what do you think?

The tires probably only stick our a little over an inch. I love the stance. Btw how do you like these federals?

Personally, I like the clean simple look of not having flares. Your truck looks great as is. Flares are nice if you have a very aggressive offset. I am looking to do spacers on my wheels because they only poke about an inch also. But without a major offset, I say no flares. As far as the federals, I love them. They have a great look, reenforced sidewalls, smooth ride, and great wear. And for the price, you wont find a better tire.
