Default Any negatives with cam regrinds?

Since there are no cams available for the 2008+ 4.7L, I'm considering getting an extra set of oem cams and having comp or crane do a regrind. As far as I know there's nothing "bad" about regrinds, but just want to double check from others who know for sure. As far as I can tell, I'd just have to shim the lash adjusters, or replace them with longer ones to make up the difference.

Can anyone confirm?

I got a price from crane for the regrind and IMO it is CHEAP. If I could come across a cheap set of used cams(maybe from a burnt up engine) I'd do it in a heart beat. Especially as easy as they are to access being OHC.

You need longer pushrods to match the amount ground down.

^what if you're engine doesn't have pushrods (4.7L) ?

Seriously, that's what I thought, we would just need to shim the lash adjusters, is this correct?

Nothing wrong with regrinds. I would argue they are better for a mild increase. New grinds can be all over the place with their cam journal dimensions. Don't be stuck on comp or crane, necessarily. Lots of places can help you out, be as good or better, and some could be local.
As with any part, as long as its done correctly.

It may be another option to what these companies are making for the 4.7L

http://www.k1technologies.com/
&
http://www.bionicdodge.com/ mentions some companies
