Chips are nothing more than a paperweight for new model cars... If you want to buy one I know a good snake oil salesman I can introduce you too lol...
Chips were used in old cars before advanced ECU's were introduced...
Programmers are used to rewrite the information in your trucks ECU and your Transmission ECU that way it can be told to perform in a certain way (shift points, Air to fuel mixtures etc...)
This is just a basic run down LOTS more technical stuff to talk about if you have the time and a few beers lol....
Just got out of a Camaro so this is right up my alley really looking forward to being able to tinker with the computer as it makes a world of difference in performance... I wonder if EFI LIVE or HP tuners will ever get involved with our computers?
