Default New maganflow and ypipe installed!!!

first feel free to move the post anywhere...
put on my 14'' magnaflow muffler and ypipe today on my 2012 hemi express. i had a hard time deciding over the 18'' and the 14'' and im very glad i went with the 14''. first its not that very loud, has a nice low rumble at idle and when you get on it, it lets everyone know u mean business. the mds drone is noticable but not anymore then when it had the stock on. power gains? didnt notice any real gains gonna add the trinity tuner next when i get my tax return back so i hope to feel more and gonna put it on the dyno to see the results. all and all im very happy with going with the 14'' and the ypipe. i adjusted the tails up to cause i hated seeing a gap between the bumper and tails.

heres some crappy cell phone vids
they dont do it justice, in person you will have a big smile on your face

Sounds good! How much did it run ya all together if you dont mind me asking? Just welded in y pipe and muffler to stock system?

Also, can someone clarify the difference in the 14, 18, 24? Are these pretty much just the same as Flowmasters series?

I have myself completely decided on Magnaflow, just havent understood the differences in sizes.

Is the y pipe worth it?

Part numbers i used were 12198 for the muffler and 10778 for the ypipe. I paid 200$ for it welded up and they made a new pipe going into the ypipe that wasnt crimped like the one from the factory. Go under your truck and look at the factory y and youll see why everyone changes them. 24'' quiet 18" mild 14" louder. Go on youtube and type in magaflow ram and different sizes and listen to hear what u might like to put on yours

the # is the length of the muffer, higher you go, less noise, I have an 18, sounds just right to me lol

Congrats on the new mod, OP! Not trying to start an argument, just a different viewpoint. I have looked at the y-pipe and to me, it looks more like it was pressed into a semi-oval shape rather than crimped or squished. I think it still has relatively the same diameter, just a different shape. Also, the y-pipe and welding involved to replace it adds cost to a basic muffler job, and I'm just not convinced it's worth it for the minimal gains (if any) you would get. I have yet to see any dyno #s showing significant gains with just a y-pipe swap. JMO, and to each his own.

I believe that unless you are fine tuning the engine, the stock Y pipe is good enough
If i worked on my own vehicles, as i did when i was younger, i would put on the Y pipe just to re route the exhaust around the transmission pan. That would make changing the 2 filters in the transmission easier.
I believe the exhaust pipe between the Y pipe & muffler is also flattened, so i would change that too
If i were to change mine, it would be for mechanical reasons, not performance
Either way, it gives you bragging rights
