Default economy stubby antenna

First off I am cheap and I know they are not expensive but I wanted to see how it would look and see about reception plus I like to diy everything I can. I found a YouTube video that did this but I adapted his version to work in my application. Credit goes to poor man mods. I bought a 2 pack of 4" spring door stopper 350, went by fastnal to get a bolt he had a 6` piece of SS allthread that he gave me. Had the plastic dip already. Here are the pics I did one coat of red just to see how it looks and I don't like it so I will dip it black tomorrow a and cut the bolt down some so it is flush. It took about 15 min to cut assemble and dip. I used a heat gun to dry it so I could put it on the truck to take a pic.

I will post a pic of the black one tomorrow. I tuned to a station 75 miles away and could not tell any difference in reception. I will have to test it while driving.

reception is good for mynormal stations.

It looks good I would consider it except for the gap that is there between base and door stopper would drive me nuts

Gap is gone. It is very flexible and cost is about 3 bucks.

Great job and it looks nice. Kudos on thinking this thru.

I went the lazy route and ordered a Stubby on-line.
