to do an engine swap you will also need to replace the computer ( brain ) aswell , and for direct fit im not to sure on that one, but they should bolt up to the trans the same, as for motor mounts they might be different.
ohh and i allmost forgot you will most likely need to replace the wireing harness under the hood, as i beleve there will be different/more/, and different locations of sensors and such

it's a lot of work, a lot! your best bet is to find a wrecked 5.7 ram and grab everything.

I agree...it's more than a simple swap and whitevamp has the right of it. Engine, computer, harness, injectors, throttle body, sensors and, potentially, the tranmission & TCM that goes with it.

Then think about motor mounts, front suspension/springs, etc...

It can be done!

tinniste - Did you ever do the swap? I'm trying to put a 2003 5.7 hemi into a 2002 with a blown up 4.7.

Hey guys I'm curious. I have a 2002 dodge 1500 with a 4.7 and it's standard. I don't like the 4.7 at all on the highway. I couldn't pass someone if I wanted too. Truck has 250k and have thought about doing a rear mount turbo or a hemi swap. I've found a few forums and 100 different answers about swaps. Will a hemi swap into a 4.7 with a manual or does the granny need to be swapped aswell.
