Question Diff fluid and gasket replacement

I'm planning on replacing the gasket and oil in the rear end, I have Lucas 80w-90 gear oil, equa-torgue additive and the gasket for the 9.25 and was wondering a) the Lucas bottle says there's no need for additive but should I still put it in and b) is there anything specific I need to do or can I just pull the cover off and replace the gasket and fluid?

Putting in the additive is cheap insurance, IMO. The only thing you need is a ratchet, socket and a good gasket scraper.

Also did the you buy a gasket. I would recommend using a rtv silicon to seal the cover. Works alot better. Is the gasket you bought made of cork cause if it is don't over tighten or you will crack the gasket and it will leak.
