Default 2012 ram battery light

lit up. Not on 2009 wiring diagrams at all, assume driven by ECU? /PCM. charging system is perfect. Help from site, top shelf, got me to 09 wiring, but this light not on that diagram.Trying to find out what drives it. Starting to think lit by CAN bus into cluster? Are all the idiot lights lit that way? No diagram of cluster itself, or how it works??

Ready for black tape over light. Do not want them pulling truck apart.

I have a 10, my light came on and truck died. Have you had any starting issues? I had a bad battery from the factory. Just a thought.

Have you checked the voltage output from the battery? Alternator? Despite the charging system working, if your battery and or alternator has and undervolt or overvolt condition that is "out of spec" it could be causing the fault.

This is what the owners manual states about your symptom:

32. Charging System Light
This light shows the status of the electrical charging
system. The light should come on when the
ignition switch is first turned to ON/RUN and remain on
briefly as a bulb check. If the light stays on or comes on
while driving, turn off some of the vehicle’s non-essential
electrical devices or increase engine speed (if at idle). If
the charging system light remains on, it means that the
vehicle is experiencing a problem with the charging
system. Obtain SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. See an authorized
dealer.
